What Grand Print does and what it deliberately does not do.

Is my image uploaded to Grand Print?

No. A file you select, its preview, and the generated output are processed locally in your browser. Grand Print does not receive the image bytes, filename, EXIF data, preview, layout settings, PDF, or JPG tiles.

Which source formats are supported?

Grand Print accepts JPEG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, and HEIC or HEIF images when the active browser codec can decode them. PDF files are accepted too: the first page is rendered on your device at print resolution and used as the image, and any further pages are ignored.

Can I use a PDF as the source?

Yes, for its first page. Choose the PDF like any other file and Grand Print renders page 1 in your browser, then tiles that page as the poster. Nothing is uploaded, the remaining pages of a multi-page file are ignored, and a password-protected PDF has to be unlocked before it can be opened.

What is the largest image I can use?

It depends on the device and browser in front of it, so there is no honest universal file-size promise. Grand Print measures what the machine actually reports — usable memory, processor cores, free local storage, and the browser features the image engine needs, such as cross-origin isolation and OPFS — and then picks a matching limit profile; it never guesses from a browser brand or user-agent string. A 4 GB phone is therefore given lower ceilings than an eight-core desktop with 16 GB, and the active compressed-byte, pixel, dimension, page-count, storage, and device-tier limits are all shown before selection. An image that exceeds a safe limit is rejected with an explanation instead of silently lowering export quality.

How large a poster can I print for free?

Every poster size is free. The sheet count never changes the price, unlocks nothing, and adds no watermark: a forty-sheet poster costs exactly what a one-sheet poster costs, which is nothing. There is no size-based paid tier, trial, or export credit of any kind. The only ceilings are the device-safety limits Grand Print shows before selection, and none of them are commercial.

Will enlarging make a small image sharper?

Not automatically. A larger print cannot reveal detail that is missing from the source. Grand Print reports effective resolution and can offer a bounded, one-time 2× Lanczos resampling option, but it does not describe that as recovering lost detail.

Which print setting should I use?

Use the same paper size and orientation selected in Grand Print, then print at Actual size or 100%. Fit to page can shrink each tile and make the assembled poster smaller or harder to align.

Does Grand Print work offline?

After the application assets have been loaded and cached, the processor is designed to work without a network connection for files already on your device. Feedback and opening external support links still require a connection.

Do I need an account or payment?

No. Grand Print has no account requirement, feature paywall, export watermark, or payment step. Optional support does not unlock features or change output quality. But it is appreciated as it helps me keep the app alive and free for everyone. 🤍
